Adjustable Spring Miniature Die
MTS dies are made from a tough high carbon special alloy tool steel and are carefully heat treated and tempered to provide a torsional toughness approximately 25% greater than high speed steel. The diameter of these dies is .180 inches and measure .75inches in length. They have a wide range of adjustment and provide accurate axial alignment when used with the specially designed MTS die holder thereby assuring clean and well formed threads. The die is manufactured to close approximately .005-.006 in order to cut the thread to the correct size. Because the die out of the holder opens an appreciable amount in proportion to the depth of the thread, if a screw breaks during threading the broken piece can easily be removed. |

Miniature Roll Dies
We are currently experimenting with roll dies for miniature threads that form an external thread similar to forming an internal thread with a roll tap. Our initial tests on a CNC chucker and CNC Swiss screw machine have been quite impressive. Benefits include significant time savings over single pointing, a mechanically superior thread, and long tool life.
